Cockerpoo – Sneak Peek

In this Sneak Peek I would love to introduce you to Archie. And it is fair to say he is a very excitable young Cockerpoo!

For the whole duration of the photo shoot he was on a leash. And to be honest, that was for the best. I always say to my clients that safety comes first as I certainly would not have wanted Archie to run off mid shoot! I think my heart would have skipped some beats!

In order to take the right image as a photographer you have to see the image in your minds eye before you take it. This was the case here. When I saw the graffiti and the puddle I just knew I had to compose a portrait here. This is what I photographed (please scroll down further to see the after shot of this Cockerpoo puppy):

In the top left corner were railings that just made the image a bit messy and of course to name the elephant in the room there is the very obvious lead. So after working the image, here is the result. Do you like it?

Client review

I have been a bit lax in updating my “Kind Word” section recently. Thankfully that does not mean that I don’t receive nice reviews for my portraits, … Please keep them coming!

As with every business, especially small ones, these reviews mean the world. It makes working with my clients so much more rewarding.

I don’t think I ever appreciated how quickly our little puppy would grow going from a puppy faced cutie to a very little man in the space of a few months, being able to have these memories forever of him with the puppy charm is something I’ll always be glad off.  When Barbara suggested a photo shoot with the daffodils we realised this was our one opportunity – as next year he would be double the size, still cute but a grown up cute.  Watching Barbara with our dog was something else, the care, attention and how he was fixated with her made for a wonderful experience for both puppy and owners alike.

Many thanks

Happy National Puppy-dog Day!

What a coincidence! I was on a dog photo shoot this morning with a gorgeous 15 week old puppy when Social Media informed me that today is indeed National Puppydog Day!

My clients and I had a great time enjoying the daffodils in full bloom. Their puppy enjoyed them too!

It was lovely to see how everything was so exiting for him. This phase in their puppy lives just does not last that long and from a photographic point of view I just love giving my clients scrumptious images to look at in the years to come.

We have already put a date in the diary for the bluebell season. I can’t wait to see how much this little bundle of joy will have grown by then,…. I’ll keep you posted.

Here is the Sneak Peek from earlier today:

Golden Retriever Puppy Photo Shoot Experience – Sneak Peek

I love the precious puppy stage! They are so tiny! This stage of their life passes far too quick and you can see them grow on a daily basis. It is great to have a fantastic photographic keepsake of it. I had the most wonderful Dog Photo Shoot Experience this with very inquisitive lady who got up to all sorts in her garden.

It was a very sunny day and we had to choose the areas where the pictures were taken very carefully. We made the most of the shadows available though.

To put my clients wishes first, I always check if the owners allow me to post a Sneak Peek, which luckily they did.

Isn’t she adorable?

#DogsInBusiness ~ Tom Halpin, mobile Farrier

Did I wet your appetite for this #DogsInBusiness blog in my last Sneak Peek? Here it is!

“Dobby” the Jack Russell Terrier puppy travels with Tom every day, and he tends to curl up on the passenger seat waiting patiently for Tom to return from his client.

Tom has undergone a 5 year training and he qualified in 2007. His client base is about 20 miles around Tunbridge Wells (servicing areas like Crawley, Crowborough, Ashdown Forest, Biggin Hill, Meopham, New Ash Green to name a few) and he is also traveling to meet his clients needs in France and in America.

A personal service is very important to Tom, who is really passionate about his clients horses and ponies. So if you are looking for a reliable Farrier, he can be contacted on his mobile (07815 751 385)

One image shows “Dobby’s” friend “Jack” a black Labrador. Secretly “Dobby” thinks he is a Labrador. I am sure he thinks he will grow as tall as Jack himself one day! :o)

Sneak Peek ~ Dobby

This Sneak Peek image is taken from the dog portrait photography session from last Sunday.

Please meet “Dobby” the 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier puppy. “Dobby” has 4 brothers 2 black and white and 2 black and tan. “Dobby” is the runt of the litter and I am not afraid to say that “Dobby” is a little crazy!

I came away with a whole variety of different portrait images that day, so do look out for the next #DogsInBusiness when you will be able to see a few more!

Sneak Peek ~ Bailey & Alfie & Harvey

This Dog Portrait Photography session took place on a very changeable day last week in Tonbridge. We started off indoors and moved outside during a rain break.

As you can see, with this Sneak Peek the owner of Bailey (the Labradoodle), Alfie (the Miniature Schnautzer top left) and Harvey (the black Miniature Schnautzer puppy top right) and I had Christmas and Christmas cards on our mind!

If you are thinking along the same line, why not give me a call on 07950 025 492 for an informal chat. The card and frame order deadlines are drawing nearer.

Alternatively you can send me an email with your contact details and I will call you back.

It’s great to be a puppy!

The best part of the life of a dog, must simply be the puppy stage. Everything is new and exiting with new scents and new toys abound.

As promised a little while ago, I thought I share some dog portraits of “Elsie” the young Lucas Terrier with you. This collage was created for Elsie’s owner Paula Cook (who also owns the local pre-school music Humpty Dumpty Club) and her family. I hope they will still enjoy looking at these photographs when Elsie is all grown up.

To me, these images sum up being a puppy! I wish it would last longer!

#DogPhotoBlog ~ Week 21

This week I photographed a 13 week old Lucas Terrier with the sweet name of “Elsie”. She is such a cute bundle of joy!

For our dog photography session, we even managed to find a lovely bluebell wood nearby. Yes, that’s right – the bluebells were still out and they looked totally stunning!

Her owner Paula Cook, a mother of three, says that Elsie has joined their busy family and has been a complete joy since the day she arrived from Stow-on-the-Wold aged just 8 weeks. Elsie’s favourite place to hang out is the laundry pile and she is already far more obedient than any of her children with the fantastic help of Emma Jackman’s expert puppy training (Tel: 07949 171245). Elsie is a credit to her breeder given that upon arrival she was able to “sit” on command and climb into her bed on the instruction of “Beddies!” She has been described as the cutest little teddy bear and her new family is totally in love with her!

Aside from looking after this gorgeous new puppy Paula also provides music classes for pre-school aged children; www.humptydumptyclub.co.uk a club that evolved with her children and has grown ever since (Paula’s eldest is now 13!), classes run in Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge, Wadhurst, Sevenoaks and Hildenborough most days of the week. The off-shoot of this business have been PIC N MIX PARTIES which started up when parents’ said that Humpty Dumpty was their favourite hour of the week and could they make their children’s Birthday parties special – this has also mushroomed and become quite diverse, offering from Musical parties, Active Games parties, Art & Craft parties through to Pamper Parties – www.pic-n-mixparties.co.uk – for all enquires call Paula on 01892 864592.

I hope you enjoy this image, there are some more of Elsie to follow in a little sneak peek, which is all about her “puppyness”.

#DogPhotoBlog ~ Week 10

I went out with a 6 month old Red Setter puppy named “Cora” this week. Her fur is lovely and shiny and when she stands you can tell her parents are Crufts champions.

It was a bright sunny day, and not the most favourable conditions for dog photography (or any kind of outdoor portrait photography for that matter, due to the harsh shadow cast). Whilst I took some images of her running around off lead in a field I decided against any of these images for my dogphotoblog.

This image is taken under the cover of trees on the way back to the car park. The foliage of the trees has not grown back yet, so the diffused light that manages to come through is very flattering.

I do hope I will get another chance to take some more images of Cora, who is a very affectionate puppy and likes a good stroke.
