How does it work?
- When you first contact Barbara Yeo Photography, we will gather a little information about who you would like photographed and what you would like to accomplish with your session. We can also answer any questions you have.
- After you decide when you would like to schedule your portrait experience we will ask for the pre-paid creation retainer which includes reserving Barbara’s time for the planning, creating and editing of your photographs, followed by a password protected gallery upload. We understand that sometimes things come up and a session will need to be rescheduled. As long as 48 hour notice is provided we can reschedule your shoot and your retainer will carry over. Please note that retainers can be forfeited if there is a no-show, 48 hour notice is not provided for a cancellation or there are excessive cancellations.
- After a session has been booked and the fee has been received we will send you a confirmation email/letter with your session date and time. In addition Barbara will call you nearer the time to confirm that the weather is favourable for an outdoor session or if the shoot will have to be rescheduled due to rain.
- During pet portrait sessions the first part will be getting to know you and letting your pet/s get to know Barbara. This is very important since it ensures that you and your pet are comfortable and willing to let Barbara photograph you naturally. Even though the session is estimated to take a certain amount of time Barbara will never make you feel rushed to complete the shoot in a certain amount of time.
- Once the photography experience is completed Barbara will upload a password protected gallery so you can choose your favourite images at a time that suits you (please allow approximately 14 days after the day of the shoot to allow for post-production work).
- Wall portraits, Albums and any other orders will be delivered approximately 4 weeks after payment.
How far will you travel?
Destinations in and around Royal Tunbridge Wells are included in the price of the package. After 10 miles of travel a travel fee is charged. Barbara takes commissions throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Essex and London. Feel free to contact Barbara Yeo Photography with questions.
Where do your animal photo shoots take place?
Barbara prefers to shoot where your pets/horses are the most comfortable and the place that brings out their true character. Equestrian shoots can take place at your stable, yard or a favourite location of your choice. Pet shoots can take place at a park, woodlands, in your garden or even in your home. Barbara can offer suggestions on locations if you like.
What shall I wear during the animal photo shoot experience?
Barbara will talk to you about clothing choices for the day making sure you and your pet complement each other and the colour choices reflect your interior too. Generally the Equestrian photography experience will be split into three sets of clothing styles, which could include a dress.
For your dog
Please make sure that your dog does not have a heavy meal 1 ½ hours before the shoot.
Don’t forget to bring along your dog’s favourite thing, especially if you would like them to be included in the photograph. Treats can either be really good or really bad, depending on how your dog will react to this type of “bribe”, Barbara usually tends to do her shoots without treats and uses different methods of getting the right expression, but she leaves it up to you to decide when to pull out the treats.

What if I am not happy with any of the pictures you take?
Barbara is so sure that you will be happy with your photos that we offer a money back guarantee on the retainer. Barbara can work with you to get exactly what you are looking for, even if it requires scheduling a re-shoot.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my outdoor shoot?
Barbara will contact you earlier in the day or the day before if it looks like the weather is not going to cooperate for your shoot. We can play it by ear or reschedule for another day.
Do you shoot in black and white?
Barbara shoots entirely in digital so any of the photos taken can be converted to black and white or sepia. Some pictures look better in black and white while others tend to look better in colour. If you are not sure whether a picture will look good in black and white let Barbara know, she will be happy to offer suggestions and to convert the image for you.
Do you sell digital images?
Yes. High resolution jpeg prices start from £45. (The copyright of the images remain with the photographer, unless agreed otherwise.) If you choose to commission your own prints from the purchased jpegs, please be advised that they may not represent 100% of the image quality our business stands for as all lab printers are calibrated differently.
Do you have a studio?
We do not photograph pets in a studio. We tend to think that pets feel more comfortable and therefore look better when they are in their natural surroundings.
What is the model and property release form for?
This contract explains the terms of your photo shoot and protects the rights of Barbara Yeo Photography to the photos that result from the shoot. This contract will be signed right before the shoot.
Are you insured?
As a professional photographer we hold a public and product liability insurance, covering injury caused to third parties or for damage caused to a third party property
I still have a few questions ...
