Lost and Happily Reunited

Did you hear the news today about a the lost and happily reunited pet? A Sprocker Spaniel went missing in Chessington, Kingston-upon-Thames about 6 years ago and because the dog was microchipped the owners were alerted by a Vets close to Reading. I love a happy ending, don’t you?

I recently photographed a lovely cat who is now 18 years old and still going strong who had a similar story. Buster went missing in July 2006 when his owners were still living in the Pantiles. This was before social media where you can quickly post a search post in Facebook! Do you remember those times? Emma, the owner, put posters up, put leaflets through doors and put an ad in the Courier! When I asked Emma what particular action had the most results, she said placing the ad in the Courier, sadly this also led her to many wild goose chases and crushed hopes!

After a year they moved house having accepted to never see Buster again. Buster was never forgotten, but as time passed they took in two rescue cats.

Fast forward to January 2012 and Emma receives a phone call from a Vet about 15 miles away who found Buster, identified by his Microchip. Yeah! Another lost and happily reunited furry friend!

Here is Emma’s top tip: Keep your Microchip details up to date and don’t give up looking!

As Busters story was published in a local paper, Emma was contacted by the family Buster lived with for 5 years. They loved him dearly and looked after him very well.

Busters story was also published in Pettales in the Telegraph in January 2012.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to Buster the Newspaper Celebrity!

The Cats Protection calendar for 2019 is out

I love taking pictures of cats, they are truly unpredictable! The Cats Protection Charity commissioned me to take portraits of cats who were re-homed via their re-homing places for inclusion in their beautiful presented calendar. Their owners took part in a Facebook competition and where chosen to be included in the forthcoming calendars.

The image of Nyx was taken earlier this year and is proudly presenting the month October.

The calendar is out for sale on the cats protection dedicated shop window. Feel free to browse their other wares.

“The Cat” Magazine “Picture Perfect” Autum 2013 issue

The Cat Protection Charity’s quarterly magazine “The Cat” is out now. Please contact the charity for more information on subscription (and continue to reading the rest of the article), adoption, fundraising or general queries regarding anything feline.

In the current autumn issue Siobhan O’Brien writes about how to photograph cats. She asked 5 pet photographers, including myself, for our top 2 tips which are mentioned in her article.

Cat photography

Recently I was approached by a journalist. She is currently working on an article for a cat magazine and was wondering if I had photographed cats in the past. The answer is yes!

Most of the time these portraits happen, when my equestrian and canine clients are also feline owners. So for all cat lovers I have put a storyboard together for you!
